1925

Peerless Pressed Metal Corporation was founded in Watertown, Massachusetts by Richard Sparrow.

1965:

Dick Sparrow acquired Leaktite from Bay State Steel CO. and moved it into his 10,000 square foot location employing 12 people.

1972

Rod Sparrow & Leon Klesman shake hands with marketing firm Klesman & Associates to represent Leaktite in the Hardware Industry.

The Steel Pail line was expanded to include 5 & 10 quart plastic pails and Paper Tubs.

1974

First business with True Value begins.

1976 - 1977

Earliest Ace Hardware SKUs started:


1984

Rod Sparrow acquired the entire equity of Leaktite and moved the operation into the present day Leominster, MA location. The original Leaktite facility was 25,000 square feet.

1989

Next line of Ace Hardware SKUs begin with the plain white 5 Gallon Bucket & Gasket Seal Lid.

2000

Customized/Personalized Bucket Program starts

2018

Leaktite expanded into an 80,000 square feet manufacturing and warehouse facility location in Phoenix, Arizona.

2020

With multiple expansions Leaktite’s manufacturing site is approximately 200,000 square feet and employs in excess of 150 people. The original line of 5 products has been expanded to over 70 items with a range of buckets, small containers, paint liners, and paint trays.
