Leaktite Corporation and Leaktite West Corp. held socially-distant, mask-wearing ice cream socials to thank employees for their hard work this year. It has been a challenging four months and we truly appreciate their efforts to keep us going. Not to mention, ice cream just seems to make everything a little better!
It Takes A Village
With the pandemic looming over our communities for the past two months, Susan Chalifoux Zephir, executive director, of Ginny’s Helping Hand, Inc. in Leominster, along with Kym Craven, president of the Townsend Ecumenical Outreach and Dorcus Hurd and JoAnn Mossman, volunteers of the Westminster Community Food Pantry, all agree that making sure communities have their basic necessities is what’s most important.
For over 30 years, Ginny’s mission has been to help those in need throughout the region by providing food, clothing, temporary shelter and by working with other organizations to support those who need assistance. .
“We have seen a lot of people who have lost their jobs and have never been to a food pantry before,” Chalifoux Zephir said. “We want to make sure that everyone in the community knows that’s why we’re here.”
Ginny’s, located at 52 Mechanic St., Leominster, receives food from the Worcester County Food Bank, Hannaford Supermarket and Target; and have received hundreds of pounds of food donated from LEAKTITE, Keller-Williams North Central Realty Group, and Applewild School.
Leaktite Employee Lends a Helping Hand
Leaktite’s very own Sharon Richford came to the rescue by making 166 reusable masks for our employees. We are all grateful for her kindness and outstanding effort during this time of need. Thank you, Sharon!
Are All Plastics Created Evil? | Rannveig Magnúsdóttir
Weekly resin report: Tightening supply sends prices higher
Tighter supply sent polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) prices up $0.01 to 0.02/lb last week, reports the PlasticsExchange (Chicago) in its Market Update. While the flow of fresh railcars remained slow for the second straight week and the variety of materials offered were not necessarily the most desirable, demand was robust and buyers snagged the best low-hanging fruit. The week ended with buyers seeking more well-priced resins.
3D printing also suitable for super-soft TPE compounds
Kraiburg TPE has performed extensive tests to examine the suitability of its thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) for use in additive manufacturing (AM). The tests have shown that almost all of the company’s TPEs can be processed with excellent results using fused deposition modeling (FDM) on devices from French 3D printer manufacturer Pollen AM.
Company’s goal: Making a better bucket
LEOMINSTER -- For a company that offers more than 30 varieties of the age-old plastic bucket, coming up with an exciting new twist on the traditional is always at the top of the to-do list. Some might call it a bucket list.
While the company’s recent marvel known as the Big Gripper bucket has garnered plenty of media attention as of late, the real superstar has yet to make its official debut. Hitting shelves on Feb. 1, the company’s 7-in-1 bucket is the company’s latest design. You might not think a bucket could turn your head, but this one has quite a bit of promise in that realm.
